Start of Garden Sheds Web Site

Hi,
At long last we have added a Blog to our website https://www.leisurebuildings.com/ which feature all our range of garden sheds and buildings. It is a surprise that it has taken so long as we were the very first website in the UK to feature garden sheds back in 1996. At the time I was running Titan Garden Workshops which I have started back in 1979 making garden sheds and selling direct to the public. At the time the advertising was done through local newspapers, mainly in the classified sections. Occasionally we had a small display advert but being a very small company back in those days was not very often. One of the best magazines we used for the 'Thames Valley Trader' based in Reading Berks, not that far from our small factory in Surrey. The Thames Valley Trader evolved in the Auto Trader specialising in motor vehicles of all sorts, and like us follow us onto the internet. We also used the Exchange and Mart as a regular spot for advertising.

It was my son, Craig Robin, who introduced my garden shed company, which grew into our family firm, onto the internet back in 1996. My shed company at the time was Titan Garden Buildings, which we still offer today. He saw the internet in its very early stages and realised it would be a good media to let the public know about the range of sheds which we had been making since 1979. One Saturday back in 1996 when my wife and I were going shopping in Woking he asked whether I could get a book on creating a web site which we did. I think this book was by Puffin and it consisted of about 100 pages. However from that book Craig wrote the web pages which would become the foundations for our current web site https://www.leisurebuildings.com/ which you see today and is used by 1000's every day.
At the time I was not very convinced about the possible potential of the internet, having gone the phase with CB (citizen band) radios back in the late 70's early 80's. The CB's was a mad faze which everyone (so it seemed at the time) wanted to be part of. The problem was that is was illegal to operate the CB radios in the early days, however, the goverment of the day, in 1981 legalised the use of these radios so everybody could use them. For sone reason after being made legal they slowly died a death and the faze ended. I thought this would happen on the web - how wrong could I be !!!. Since those days I have evolved into a great believer on the internet and use it on a daily basis for anything and everything - how did we manage before?
We intend to offer a regular blog relating to our company, to garden sheds, also gardening features and helpful advice, so just sign up to be informed when this will happen. We also have a public Support Forum Board relating to garden buildings and related subjects so take a look.
Regards,Robin (The Shed Man)
